What's New for the 2017 Honda Civic?
The 2017 model year ushers in two changes to the Honda Civic. The first is appears in the Civic EX-T model, in which last year?s standard continuously variable transmission is now a six-speed manual transmission. The 2017 Civic EX-T with manual transmission has a 1.5-liter turbo I-4 engine delivers 174 horsepower, 167 lb-ft of torque and 31 city/42 highway MPG**. The CVT transmission is an available option on the EX-T.
The biggest news for 2017 is the re-introduction of the iconic Civic Hatchback, which has fuel economy readings of 30 city/39 highway MPG**. The styling of the new Civic Hatchback is bold, with a distinctly angular, aggressive design that is built to excite. The front of the Hatchback features sharp styling, with LED running lights, piano black grille and black mesh fascia inserts. The rear has a sloped-back end, bright C-shaped LED taillights, dual exhaust outlets and a unique rear hatch window for better visibility. In all other respects, the Civic Hatchback provides the same brilliant features offered in the 2017 Civic Sedan and Coupe models.
