Occupants inside the 2016 Odyssey can stretch out over three rows of seats with a passenger volume of up to 172.6 cubic feet. To easily reach the third row, pull a lever and the second-row seats move forward. Rely on Wide Mode to increase the width of the second row outboard seats by 1.5 inches to provide more room. Even with all the seats up, you get a cargo volume of 38.4 cubic feet. Fold down all the seats to max out carrying capacity at 148.5 cubic feet. Except in the base LX model, the driver's seat power adjusts in 10 ways including power lumbar support. The front passenger's seat power-adjusts in four ways. On the higher trims, two-position memory can store seating adjustments and the third-row Magic Seat® folds with one motion into a 60/40 split.
Interior
The standard engine on the 2016 Honda Odyssey is the 3.5-liter aluminum alloy V6 with 24 valves, a Single OverHead Camshaft, and Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control with intelligence. This power plant outputs 248 horsepower at 5,700 RPM and 250 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 RPM. With the standard six-speed automatic transmission, the EPA-estimated fuel efficiency runs 28 MPG on the highway, 19 MPG in the city and 22 MPG combined* with the 21-gallon fuel tank that uses regular unleaded fuel. Measuring 202.9 inches long and 79.2 inches wide, this minivan requires a curb-to-curb turning diameter of 35.1 feet.
Features
The tech features of the 2016 Honda Odyssey shine with the Intelligent Multi-Information Display, which displays information like Pandora music info, fuel consumption and incoming text messages on a bright eight-inch screen. Use the audio touch-screen to control your favorite media on the EX trims and above using Bluetooth®4 Streaming Audio to Song by Voice®. If you connect your compatible smart phone via HondaLink, you can use your phone apps to listen to Internet radio, find nearby restaurants and enjoy audiobooks. To keep passengers in the Touring Elite entertained, a 16.2-inch screen flips down to show DVDs or input from a game console. A pair of wireless headphones prevent sounds from distracting the driver®.
Safety
You can still see behind the 2016 Honda Odyssey when you back up by using the rear-view camera. The EX-L Navi and higher trims present three views: normal, top-down and wide. When the Forward Collision Warning system detects that you're at risk of a collision it alerts you. The Lane Departure Warning issues similar alerts when you stray from your intended lane without using the turn indicators. If you need to brake suddenly, Electronic Brake Force Distribution spreads forces more evenly among the front and rear. Anti-lock brakes prevent the wheels from locking up and maximize your steering control during sudden stops. To ensure your visibility even under sunlight, the Odyssey includes Daytime Running Lights.
